This Week on The Rock’n’Roll London Walk…

Rock’n’Roll London Guide Adam writes… This week on the Rock’n’Roll London Walks I have met…

A girl from Essex (now living in Australia) who shared that she’d joined the Rock’n’Roll London Walk because she’d unexpectedly become a fan of Zep on the night that both John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page joined The Foo Fighters onstage at Wembley back in 2008. (She also made a pretty spirited defence of Carly Rae Jepson’s rise to the charts via American Idol – nothing if not catholic tastes among Rock’n’Roll London Walkers!)…

A number of Walkers that had already heard the new Black Sabbath album and rated it very highly – “best since their debut!” enthused one fella. High praise indeed…

A woman from Germany who sung us a snatch of a Drafi Deutscher hit (!) and was awarded with a round of applause from the rest of the group…

A young French woman who berated me for even mentioning Johnny Halliday ("'e makes a new record every year and I wish 'e would just stop!" was her heartfelt plea to much mirth from the assembled Walkers)…

A big American fella, mad Stones fan, who’d already spent more than £200 on rare vinyl on this trip. Last seen disappearing into Reckless Records on Berwick Street……

A guy from Liverpool who, in 1988, while working in Germany was offered a free ticket to see The Stones… he turned it down because he “was busy that night” (!) and has never been able to afford a ticket to see them since…

A guy from Warrington, a massive Stone Roses fan (he used the great phrase “Northern Music” to lay claim to ownership of everything from The Beatles to Oasis!) who appears in three shots in the new Stone Roses movie Made of Stone…

Great Question Of The Week, posed by visitors from Arizona, was: Whatever Happened To Kathy? Here's Kathy…

…with Paul Simon on the sleeve of the Paul Simon Songbook. You can read our earlier post about this famous sleeve HERE and we'll post again soon in answer to the above question…

So… everything from Sabbath to Johnny Halliday and everything in between this week on the Rock'n'Roll LOndon Walk. Thanks to EVERYONE who joined us!
